- Named a “2004 Alumni Star” by the School of Science and Technology, Norfolk State University. (2004)
- Presented with the Golden Torch Award for “Lifetime Achievement” by NBSE. (2002)
- Named 20th Century Outstanding Educator by Black Issues in Higher Education. (1999)
- Recipient of the “Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring.” (1995)
